Craig Zimitat is a Senior Lecturer in Flexible Learning at the Griffith Institute for Higher Education, Griffith University, Australia. His interests lie in the areas of medical education, critical thinking and flexible learning. The latter includes teaching and research on web-based teaching and learning practice, development and evaluation of web-based teaching resources and continuing professional education.
His current research includes:
- Transitions in education: Secondary students orientations to tertiary study
- Transitions in education: New teachers' experiences in the workforce
- Transitions in education: The First Year Experience at Griffith - series of surveys of first year students at Griffith over three years, designed to focus on improving teaching and learning and the student experience at Griffith.
Craig is also working on a number of WebTools in the areas of:
- Developing an online case study environment.
- Peer evaluation of the quality of online resources.
- Developing of an online survey generator for teaching and research: http://www.surveymaker.com.au/
Using wireless technology in university teaching contexts.
Craig has also been awarded a Certificate of Commendation at Griffith University for Excellence in Teaching Awards 2002, Innovation across the Institution.
